Indian Independance Day
It was this day 61 years ago that our great nation was liberated from centuries of bondage, slavery and alien occupation.
Today is indeed a national festival. It is a festival of unbounded joy and pride. It is an auspicious day of igniting our conscience with pristine national thought.
We are combating with great evils such as terrorism, casteism, treason, unemployment, corruption, separatism, external aggressions, population explosion, crimes against women, foeticide and many more. It is a struggle of life and death. A sense of profound gloom and helplessness has cast its dark shadow over our nation.
But today is the day which enables us to shrug off this distress and to derive strength from the bliss of freedom.
Today is also the day of mourning for the territorial integrity of our nation. Such times which produce an inseparable unity of happiness and sorrow seldom come in the history of mankind. It was 61 years ago, on this day that our nation was brutally vivisected. The land in which our forefathers built the foundations of our great nation,and hence of an exalted human existence, and the holy,life giving river which gave us our identity were cruelly snatched away from us. We must never forget the great sacrifice done for the continuation of our nation and civilization.
Let us pray to the Dispenser of India's destiny, One Who rules the minds of the people, that we derive inspiration from our golden past and proceed to a powerful and prosperous future!!
